Having already had the privilege of putting the new HTC Touch Diamond2 through its paces early last month, HTC’s successor to the Diamond had fallen under the radar slightly. The HTC Touch Diamond 2 is, as the names suggests, the successor to the HTC Touch Diamond but in actual fact it’s sort of a cross between the original and the hugely successful HTC Touch HD. With a feature list that stands up against the flag
ship Touch HD, the design and size are more Diamond for a much more pocket friendly device. Opting for smooth metallic lines and a matte black battery case, the Diamond2 is easily one of HTC’s prettiest offerings.
Running on Windows Mobile 6.1means the Diamond2 is now slouch as a smart phone allowing users to open and edit Microsoft Word and Excel files, browse the internet using a scaled down version of Internet Explorer and listen to music through a mobile incarnation of Windows Media player. Working in tandem with Windows Mobile is the latest version of the popular HTC TouchFLO 3D interface. TouchFLO 3D sits on top of windows mobile, giving you quick and easy access to your most used features such as media gallery, contacts and messaging. These sit on a tool bar at the bottom which users can then scroll across to get to their desired application. Fast a

And before you can accuse the Touch Diamond2 of being all work and no play, HTC have ramped up the camera to 5.0 Megapixels (from 3.2 on the original) and added in Autofocus which promises to capture great photos, improved the screen size and quality, added in HSDPA, Wi-Fi and GPS and an all new touch sensitive zoom bar which works a treat when web browsing and looking at your photos.
